Komfovent RHP 900 H C5 – horizontal duct connections open up new installation possibilities

The new Komfovent RHP 900 H C5 is an air handling unit with an integrated heat pump, allowing the supply air to be heated or cooled as required in addition to providing efficient heat recovery. Horizontal duct connections offer greater flexibility when selecting the installation location and allow the unit to be positioned outside a conventional technical room.

The RHP 900 H C5 is suitable for ventilation systems in residential buildings, offices, and other public and commercial buildings, and is designed for areas of up to 250 m².

Horizontal duct connections provide greater installation flexibility

One of the key updates to the model is its horizontal air duct connections, which give designers and installers greater freedom when choosing the unit’s location. This is particularly important where space in the technical room is limited or where the air handling unit needs to be installed outside the indoor occupied space. The RHP 900 H C5 can be installed, for example, on a roof, next to a building, in an attic, or in other suitable non-residential spaces. This allows the ventilation solution to be adapted more flexibly to the building layout and existing technical systems.

Integrated heat pump enables heating and cooling of the supply air

The RHP 900 H C5 air handling unit features an integrated heat pump that allows the supply air temperature to be raised or lowered as required. The heat pump operates together with a sorption-enthalpy rotary heat exchanger, ensuring efficient heat recovery and helping to maintain balanced indoor humidity levels.

The inverter-controlled twin-rotary compressor adjusts heating and cooling capacity according to demand. The unit can heat the supply air even at outdoor temperatures as low as –23 °C and cool the supply air during hot summer days.

In winter, the sorption-enthalpy rotary heat exchanger allows part of the moisture contained in the extract air to be transferred back into the supply air. In summer, it helps reduce the amount of excess outdoor humidity entering the building, thereby also reducing the cooling load.

Easy installation and maintenance

The RHP 900 H C5 does not require a separate outdoor heat pump unit. This is particularly important, for example, in renovation projects and buildings located in historic areas, where an additional outdoor unit could affect the appearance of the building or create noise. RHP units are Plug & Play solutions and do not require a separate refrigeration technician for installation. The integrated heat pump makes the ventilation solution more compact and simplifies the installation of the system required to regulate the supply air temperature.

Low-GWP R1234yf refrigerant

The RHP 900 H C5 uses R1234yf refrigerant, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of only 4. The refrigerant complies with current European Union requirements and has a very low climate impact.

Functionality and control

RHP units allow the heating and cooling capacity to be adjusted according to demand while maintaining the set temperature accurately. The unit is controlled by the integrated C5 control system. Operating modes and energy-saving functions can be managed via a web server, a user-friendly control panel, or a Building Management System (BMS).
