Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has launched a new generation of air-to-air heat pumps. The ZT series has been developed to meet future demands in terms of energy efficiency, comfort and smart functionality. The new series is rated A+++ for both heating and cooling and is available in capacities ranging from 2.0 to 5.0 kW.
Enhanced performance
The indoor units of the ZT series feature a redesigned heat exchanger, a high-efficiency fan motor, and an increased fan diameter. The introduction of a new air outlet design enables the indoor airflow to reach up to 11 metres, ensuring more powerful and efficient distribution of cooled or heated air throughout the room. The modern air distribution system ensures very quiet operation and excellent energy efficiency in various indoor environments. The indoor unit noise level is only 19 dB(A) (measured at a distance of 1 metre).
The outdoor unit is equipped with an Ultra Silent Mode, which reduces the noise level to as low as 36 dB(A) (measured at a distance of 1 metre). To activate the silent operating mode, the “Silent” button on the remote control must be pressed, after which the compressor operation and fan speed are automatically adjusted to ensure the quietest possible operation.
ZT series units exceed the energy efficiency performance of the ZS series by offering higher SEER and SCOP values, setting a new standard for both energy savings and environmental friendliness. This means lower energy costs and a smaller carbon footprint for users. In addition, ZT units are capable of maintaining nominal heating capacity even when the outdoor temperature drops to as low as –10°C, ensuring reliable and powerful heating even on cold days.

Modern design for every interior
ZT series units feature a renewed design that blends seamlessly into any interior. The clean and elegant shape of the front panel gives the units a modern appearance. A wide range of colours allows them to be easily matched with different interior design solutions. The indoor units are available in white, black, and titanium black, while the outdoor units are available for the first time in black and traditional white finishes.
Simplified installation and maintenance
Ease of installation has been one of the main focuses during the development of the unit. The updated and more rigid installation plate, combined with a stronger structure, allows for more precise mounting and smaller wall clearances. Maintenance work has also been made easier – the fan and air grille can be easily removed for cleaning without having to disassemble the heat exchanger or control unit. This helps reduce both maintenance time and associated costs.
To ensure good air quality and a clean indoor environment, the units are equipped with an allergen-free filter that helps break down allergens. In addition, the units feature an internal cleaning function that keeps the interior of the unit dry and helps prevent the formation of mould, which could otherwise deteriorate air quality over time.
In addition, the ZT series includes two new features:
- A downward-facing pipe connection located at the bottom of the indoor casing. This provides installers with greater flexibility and makes installation simpler and more convenient.
- The interface module (SC-BIKN2-BL) can be integrated directly into the indoor unit. When using a wired remote controller, an additional module is still required, but thanks to the updated housing design, it can now be discreetly integrated into the indoor unit itself. The result is a cleaner installation and a more aesthetic appearance.
Smart control
ZT units come with integrated WiFi and are compatible with the Smart M-Air application, allowing users to control, monitor, and schedule their climate system using a smartphone or tablet. An important enhancement of the ZT series is the expanded energy consumption monitoring capability. The application now provides detailed energy consumption graphs displaying energy usage, efficiency, heating and cooling capacity, outdoor temperature, and set indoor temperatures. This data gives users a clear overview of their system performance and energy consumption on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis. Additional features include remote access and smart alerts, such as notifications when the unit is operating while no one is present in the building. By combining smart technology with energy-related insights, the ZT unit provides improved comfort and control.
